I am a vocalist/lyricist seeking a band that's serious, yet willing to work with someone who hasn't been in a band before.
I have recently picked up the acoustic guitar, but I'm no where near ready to list myself as a guitarist. I've sang my entire life (first as a soprano; a few years ago, I turned into an alto). I've also been writing lyrics since I was 13 years old. I began to record my songs last November by using a few pieces of home studio equipment. It is very difficult for a vocalist to get her name out without a band and so I'm here... looking for that band. I may have no chance of finding one here, but I'm going to try anyway; I am and always have been passionate about music. It's my dream.
The reason I put "Moderately commited" under my level of commitment:
I'm commited to my work, but I have to find the right people to work with before I'm 100% commited to them, of course.

Influences
I have been influenced from every different direction of music. As for female artists go, Tori Amos is at the top for me. After her: Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, Fiona Apple, Dido, etc.
Bands: Depeche Mode, The Cure, NIN, A Perfect Circle, Tool, U2 (their music from the 80s and 90s), Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, H.I.M., AFI, Alice In Chains... the list goes on and on.
