Can you pass the acid test?
Looking for a dedicated 3-piece band that would be interested in making some great music in-studio and (hopefully) eventual touring. I have been a hip-hop artist for well over 10 years, building this specific sound and style for 5+ years.
This is not an attempt to make gimmicky, Limp Bizkit/Linkin Park rock/rap. I am looking to do something genuine; raw, with an edge but also bluesy and soulful, based around hard drums and dirty guitar licks. Think Lauryn Hill/The Roots meet The White Stripes/The Strokes. I have a few songs I have written and produced that can serve as samples.
Please reach out to me with samples of your work! Please have some home studio gear to record demos and share ideas. I have access to a professional facility and engineers once we get the songs written and demoed. Be able to travel (I also drive) and don't take yourself too seriously. I think music and art should be fun and collaborative, I am not overly sensitive about my art, so I would ask that you show the same courtesy. Be open to suggestion and experimentation. Who will join this merry band of pranksters?
