Gypsy Troubadour has been in the making for twenty years but just came to fruition in 2017. Franklin Smith and Bob Van Lone bring their unique talents together to create a sound that is refreshing to those who want to hear an authentic interpretation of life. The combination of multiple musical influences is apparent in their sound that blends Texas Red Dirt Road, Americana, and Blues into the Gypsy Troubadour sound. The acoustic duo leans on the heartfelt lyrics and melodies of Franklin Smith while capturing the listener's attention with Bob Van Lone's driving guitar playing. Each song connects with the listener the way country music is supposed to; through real-life experiences that all people can relate to. Listeners should expect a wide range of topics as Franklin interprets a life full of experiences that range from love, loss, regret, pride, and shame, while Bob's gift of enhancing emotions of each song completes the listeners experience.

Franklin has spent the past 25 years playing music to fans that value traditional country music. Writing from his heart has helped him pen over 100 songs that are in his catalog. If he's not writing about his faith, he's' likely telling a story of crying, loving or leaving. His baritone voice compliments his storytelling in a way that makes him a favorite among those who value the roots of country music. His preference in music crosses many styles, but George Strait, Merle Haggard, Don Williams and Keith Whitley are prominent influences in his sound.

Bob Van Lone
Bob has been playing professionally for the better part of four decades and has shared the stage with such well-known acts as Tierra, War, and Big Brother An The Holding Company. Bob is a versatile musician, playing in bands that feature Latin Rock, Motown, Funk, Classic Rock, and Country. He has most recently been splitting his time between Los Angeles and Central Washington. He views playing music as a creative and spiritual form of expression.
