SEEKING
Band to Join, Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Saxophone, Keyboard, Background Singer.ABOUT
I am looking for musicians to play in band I am forming to support my next album. I am also looking to meet other musicians who enjoy writing their own stuff. I have been looking for another person to work with in the studio, any other dedicated musicians with Logic recording software and a mac would be nice to find sometime soon. I have plenty of time for the right situation and I'd like to get a project together in time for festivals next spring. I have a couple of decades experience playing in front of an audience, and I am eager to find the right musicians to play the material on this record as well as other stuff. I'm a pretty down to earth guy and easy to talk to. So I'm hoping for good luck in meeting other musicians. I would be glad to let interested people listen to the music on this album, to see if it sounds like something you would be interested in playing. And I would be happy to meet other musicians out at some of the open mike nights I've seen advertised but not yet attended. You know to see if we enjoyed one anothers playing styles. I'm pretty open to most situations and lifestyles so don't be shy, as I said earlier I'm hoping that this is easier than people have said it's going to be in Pittsburgh. It would be nice to not have to travel to the ends of the planet to find the right people to do this with. I listen to a lot of different music from new suff to classic music from the 80's and 90's. The music on this record is rock with a specific production style. It is a style of production similar to the work Thomas Dolby did with Prefab Sprout but the music is nothing like that at all. You have to hear it I guess because the folks who have say it's unlike anything that is on the market currently. I love the production with rich vocal harmonies and many of the grooves are heavily syncopated . I don't use loops or anything, I just try to be heavily groove oriented.
If this sounds like something your interested in, and you have the time to contribute. leave me a message and I'll get this thing moving along. As I said I would be happy to let interested parties listen to the music but I don't want to post it until copywrite and publishing are completed.

Influences
Jeff Beck, Eric Johnson, David Gilmore..Prefab Sprout, Thomas Dolby, King Crimson, Steely Dan, Donald Fagen, I even listen to prog rock on occasion, Rush have always been a favorite. But I listen to WYEP in the car. So I'm exposed to a lot of the new not mainstream music that so many talented songwriters are putting out. I have a BA in Music from Virginia Commonwealth University but I taught myself to play by ear so I read and write music if need be. I really don't care if you can read music, I just care if you play well.
