Band to Join, Cello.

ABOUT

Learning improv/interpretive piano seeking cello and other instruments to experiment with duet then trio formats. Belong to piano and jazz meetups -- which are currently the extent of my "gigs". Want to push and extend that. However, am former full-time traveling professional bluegrass performer (played guitar/bass/banjo, sang lead/harmonies, fronted show), hundreds of gigs, taught those instruments. However, mid-life reboot into piano and new styles, not interested in continuing bluegrass nor the stringed instruments nor singing at this time.

Influences

Pianists/composers Hiromi, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, George Winston, Joey Alexander, etc. e.g. various jazz and interpretive/folk/fusion styles centered around piano (for instance my pic is with Chick Corea on the right, who's great trio performance I'd just finished being blown away by.) I do enjoy classical but not to play it unless some seriously tweaked variation -- Bach, Sibelius, Brahms, Beethoven, all the piano composers. Recent favorites in the stringed genre before moving to piano were Nickle Creek, Goat Rodeo, Chris Thile, Stuart Duncan, Allison Krauss, etc.
