Frequency is a vocal band who is dedicated to performing songs from the 70s to today--Generation X and Y music--with a focus on connection to the music. This connection takes the form of the living soundtrack of our lives--the music that plays in the background of important moments and that we associate with our most important memories. With a passionate and thoughtful delivery, we take the audience on a personal trip through music they know and grew up with, inviting them to remember the moments and experience the emotions all over again. Like the old analog radio frequencies that first delivered many of these songs, all-vocal Frequency brings the audience a reminder of some of their favorites.

Music is a form of communication and our goal as performers is to do more than reproduce the right tones. We need to understand the story the lyrics are telling and the mood the music is setting and make it our own story and our own mood. This will help draw the audience in to the song and make it more real for them. We also need to understand the audience itself might have a very fond memory of the song we are singing and we need to treat that memory with respect by giving it our fullest attention.

Frequency is a proud member of the CASA (acronym) Contemporary A cappella League and an avid supporter of the genre that believes the human voice is limitless. We honor the pioneers that paved the way before us and all the styles that exist within the title "Contemporary A cappella".

We believe that the genre of "Contemporary A cappella" is growing and exploding in popularity with attention on many TV shows like "America's Got Talent" and especially "The Sing Off". We support the growth of A cappella and work to represent it in a way that will help that goal, as well as supporting the many other groups that are doing the same. We want audiences and venues who see our performance to gain an appreciation for the style or even seek out other groups who are also all-vocal. Lastly we want audiences to realize the capabilities of their own built-in instruments and encourage them to explore what's possible.

CASA is the Contemporary A cappella Society of America and is dedicated to supporting Contemporary A cappella in schools and performance venues around the world. For more information, see CASA.
