Authentic 50's 60's soul revivalist project. Much in the vein of recent successful authentic soul bands (Mayer Hawthorne and His County, Raphael Saadiq), we will be writing and then recording an album worth of non-ironic new soul music. This will require vocalists who are knowledgeable and experienced with the types of harmonies and arrangements associated (see The Temptations, The Platters, Dion and the Bel-Monts). On the instrumental side of things, we will need a true set of Funk Brothers. I need true soul fans (Motown, Stax, Chess, early Atlantic) to come forth and play authentic fills and rhythms for everything from 50's doowop to 70's funk and all the soul between. Only apply if you love this music.

When You Look At Me
When You Look At Me Year: 2010 Album: Class Genre: R&B
This is an instrumental I put together to back up my vocals on a song that will most definitely exemplify the type of work that I am looking to arrange with this band. If you like the direction this digital instrumental points, come help me make it a full sounding band recording that makes people remember what good music sounded like.

I Want That Girl To Be Mine
I Want That Girl To Be Mine Track number: 9 Year: 2010 Album: Class Genre: Other
This is an example of soul-oriented hip-hop that was put together by the hip-hop division of the Freshmen. The harmonies and singing style found on the chorus, as well as the stand-up bass, guitar and piano fills are exactly the type of things we will be doing with this new soul band project.
