“CONCEPT AND MISSION” stuff that is fun to play, fun to listen and dance to, and that is creative and different (no so much necessarily to play “funk” music per se – but to make music that is “funky”) --- so the idea is to sprinkle in a couple of chestnuts from the sort of main stream funkiness (e.g. Sly Stone – “thank you”) – but REALLY the goal is to:
- play original funky tunes
- play tunes that are NOT funk, but make em that way (like the “Joker”)
- play tunes that are “versions” of existing funky tunes by fun bands (e.g. the lettuce),
- more “obscure” funky stuff that the main stream won’t necessarily recognize
- mix in some other stuff that’s just fun (e.g. the mummies tune “Ra Ra Ra”)
- a tad of go-go
