Lots of experience from weddings to large Summer Fest stages. Can do some backup/harmony vocals. Recently retired from day job and would like to gig at least once a month but I have the time for more. Dedicated and professional attitude. Too many years of loud guitars and feedback so now I'm using in-ear monitors to save what's left. Open to many styles and venues from busking to festivals. Main goal is to have fun, make others have fun and make a little cash.
I get along and relate to musicians of all ages. Finding an existing established band is pretty much impossible being over 60 (but that would be great to find) so I'm also open to find or maybe build something different or unique. Perhaps blending some styles, or use instruments outside of their normal genre, or instruments that people don't get to see often (like a washtub bass).
I tend to think of bands as visual (which doesn't always mean "young"), not just musical, when it comes to creating a performance. Showcasing instruments, players that trade or play more than one instrument, a tribute, a theme, a story or props that keep the audience engaged, or maybe just a group of musicians that are having so much fun people can't help but get sucked in and tap their feet. Multiple genre cover songs done with bluegrass instruments is fun. Mashing up songs or recreating the original recorded versions - either way is cool. My roots are in Rock, especially the old "Theater Rock" like Alice Cooper, The Tubes, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, etc.
It doesn't have to be all or any of these things - if the right group of people find each other the outcome will define itself. I also love writing bass parts for original songs and original music projects are ok IF the music and the musicians are professional about it.
