Moved from Hawaii to Austin for work (I write software). Had a great 5 piece band in Hawaii. The sound and style of the band was defined by the unique artistry of the band members. It was a mix of blues, funk, jazz, (old school) R&B, and rock. Looking to put together or join a great band. Also gigged and recorded in LA in the '80s. I used to play music full time for a living.
Looking to find an Austin band that always plays with a groove - makes every song strong and loves to improvise - keeping each performance fresh.
I work full time and get off at 3:30pm. No problems with life - easy to get along with. I enjoy playing great music with good friends.
I've been a member of AFM since I was in high school. It is my goal to be part of a great band than wants to record.
I use Sonar Platinum and Finale for digital recording and notation.
All I have are some crummy video clips from friends in Hawaii with me on a few gigs with different players: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL74tmDpJl_34uH_4H1HX1z3LkPXSyxwnM

My current stage rig is very light with quick setup - but very strong sound. I used to have 5-6 keyboards on stage including Hammond C3 with large Lesie, Clav, Rhodes, and various synths.
Here's my current rig:
Selmer Mark VI Tenor sax. Silver plated with high F#.
Korg Kross 88 (weighted) keyboard.
Roland VR-09 Keyboard.
I also have a Hammond XK2 with Ventilator (Leslie stomp box). I've tweaked the VR-09 patches to match the Hammond sound.
My amps are EV Active Speaker and Hartke combo bass amp (when needed for extra volume).
