I started picking with Allman bros songs in early 70s. Saw Duane probably 7 times, blew me away, still does. I always followed the way picks songs with minor penitonic scale, he sounds them like Johnny Mercer tunes or even over the rainbow. Took theory and told must play rythm and I always go to picking away. Have picked thousands of hrs with all I've listed everyday since 97. I traded drug addiction for playing everyday. I haven't missed but about of not playing . Went back to new orleans in aug.2013 for a year and jammed with some good bands did pretty good until I was looked at to play rythm which I can do if I knew what I was supposed to play. I can play songs like Garry Moore still got the blues ,Hendrix little wing, whipping post and more but most happy picking. When practicing I play same artist over and over evert day. I've played with Danny Gatton every day for the last year and half. My own version of course. Gatton is the best I ever heard. Has everything jazz, rockabilly blues, amazing. Spent 25yrs on big island, not much happening, and 2yrs here in Maui. Love to pick. Thank you.
