Bass and drums looking to build a jam band from the ground up. Guitarist and keys wanted to join a weekly jam night in my home in Merrick. Focus is on funk and jam band oriented song structures. Goal is to use my space to stretch out focusing on a list of mutually agreed tunes that’s both composed and cover that will require a minimal amount of homework that emphasize pocket and soloing. We are looking for groove oriented players and you’ll have plenty of room to solo.
Players are in their 40s/50s with plenty of band experience. We’re not focused on gigging immediately, just playing and building a vibe. Home studio is set up for plug and play.

Influences
Some of the bands we’ll focus on are James Brown, New Mastersounds, Maceo Parker, the Meters, Galactic, the Greyboy Allstars, John Scofield, Little Feet, blues, R&B, soul, Lettuce and anything YOU like that fits. Mostly instrumental jams, but the bassist sings. Low pressure situation where you can stretch out and express yourself.

EQUIPMENT
The room is fully outfitted. Full backline, drums, keyboard, amps, PA. All you have to bring is yourself and your guitar and pedals. For keyboardists, I have an 88 weighted key Yamaha keyboard with a quality amp.
