ABOUT

UPDATE 2-5-2013: Well, folks, I haven't been on here in a bit, had a lot going on trying to concentrate on building the DJ biz. I've finally got the core of my sound system, and have played a few gigs with it, couldn't be more pleased. Still looking for a band to join, and looking for a regular (weekly or bi-weekly) bar gig as a karaoke or dance party DJ (prefer to do both). Specs on sound system are listed below; it's got great sound, especially for vocals, and is gonna work great as a PA for a band! Threw in some lighting effects and other goodies with it, and ended up with a nice, well-rounded sound and light show.

Here's my info. I've been a musician all my life, but I haven't been out performing live (other than karaoke nights) for over 15 years. I took a break in there to raise my son. Now that he's grown, I'm looking to get back into performing.

I'm a 39 year old vocalist, have kept up my vocal skills well over the years and broadened the types of music I can handle. I can go anywhere from classic R&B rock to 60's and 70's classic rock, to alternative. I can also do a lot of other styles that won't get much interest here, such as barbershop, folk, classical, madrigal. Basically, I just love to sing.

Here's a list of a few songs I consider ready to sing straight away. There are more, but I've already taken up a lot of space here, so I'll keep it basic:

Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Queen)
Rock This Town (Stray Cats)
Mustang Sally (Wilson Pickett)
Unchain My Heart (Joe Cocker)
Vehicle (Ides of March)
Johnny B. Goode (Chuck Berry)
The House is Rockin' (Stevie Ray Vaughn)
Brown Eyed Girl (Van Morrison)
Your Momma Don't Dance (Loggins & Messina)
Just a Gigolo (David Lee Roth)
You And I Both (Jason Mraz)
I'm Yours (Jason Mraz)
She Hates Me (Pearl Jam)
You Belong To Me (Lifehouse version)
Fat Bottomed Girls (Queen)

I'm looking for bands to audition for. Cover bands would be great, but I love doing new music too. I'm also open to putting together a brand new group, if anyone's out there with that in mind. I really just want to find a group of players that like my sound, that I fit with, and that just wants to get out there and perform. At the moment, my only live performances are karaoke nights (I just picked up a second job as a karaoke dj to have an excuse for it), but I'm really wanting to get back out there in front of a live band!

The videos on be are from an audition I did with Hoosier Daddy in October of 2011. It was my first audition in 15 years, and I can do better, but I had a lot of fun. If anyone is interested in hearing more, please feel free to contact me!
