Looking for the right mix of folks to get something together - Blues, Bluegrass, old-timey Ragtime pickin', Reggae. I can be happy making many different types of music, as long as it sounds good.
Ideally, you'll be in Brecksville / Broadview Heights area - I'm envisioning taking the time it needs to get things really tight, and don't feel like I need to play gigs immediately. I'd rather focus on finding the right songs, maybe writing a few, and recording them.
I'm in my early-40's, and have had around 200 gigs in the past decade on bass - both electric as well as upright. I like to find a groove, play in the pocket, and listen to the whole band. I play other instruments as well, and have only recently been trying to develop as a vocalist.

Influences
As far as influences go - and even more, the spirit, energy, and approach they all have brought to their craft - I'd like to find folks who have some reverence for musicians like The Wood Brothers, Derek Trucks / Tedeschi Band, The Allman Brothers, The Band, The Meters, Old Crow Medicine Show, Van Morrison, Simon & Garfunkel, Galactic (if you're a drummer & consider Stanton Moore an influence, please respond!) The idea of playing a few Jimmy Buffett tunes doesn't completely turn me off, but 80's hair metal or power ballads certainly would. Beatles are great, too, but tough to cover well.
