Dead Letter has been a Black and Death Metal project since 1995 in Detroit Michigan, starting as a solo one band project, evolving into a two man project and than finaly when I relocated to Columbus Ohio in 1999 became a full lineup band, which has gone through 7 differant incarnations, over the last decade.
I resurrected Dead Letter to be a studio recording project, while I was recording an EP with my other Black metal. The only other musician I was going to have on the EP was the vocalist I work with. He liked the music so much, he asked me if I wanted to put a live band together, and actualy play shows. He is a signed musician and has alot of music contacts, so I decided to give it a go.
Our drummer is one of the best and most traditional Black metal drummers in all of Ohio, being half of the creative force behind the Viking Black metal band "The Conquering". And our singer has I mentioned is a signed artist for his one man band projects "Speaker Ritual" and "Ssenkrad".
Dead Letter is unique. While it has obvious Black and Death metal influences, I personaly have alot of influence by Classical music like Beethoven and Wagner. So we focus on a very melodic style of music. We also push the envelope and try to avoid doing things which are atypical. We do love to experiment, and seek an open minded Bass player that loves melody.
We have a demo version recorded of our EP "Reign of Sorrow". The subject matter is about the search for Truth in a world, where untruth reigns supreme. We practise once per week, typicaly on Saturday in the Southend of Columbus. Commitment to meeting at least one day per week is required. We will be playing alot of live shows, if we can find YOU.

Influences
Our influences are very very wide ranging. Personaly my influences are Beethoven, Wagner, Morbid Angel, Burzum, Satyricon, Emperor, King Diamond ect But we dont sound like anyone, accept ourselves. Were very very melodic and need a Bass player interested in playing within a melodic context.
