I am a 50yr old singer with a full time day job and family, My dream of touring on Vans Warped Tour,etc. is over, but I love music and want to go back to doing original stuff myself, if no band that's right comes along. I am a pretty seasoned singer though been quite awhile since i was singing daily. I bounce back fast though! Best of all is I am , A ZERO drama, no ego-head lead singer (can't stand to be around people in music who think their the "sh*t" and must be arrogant enough to let everyone around them know it, Be Confident but not an asshat! LOL I love music and the brotherhood of a band, If a band is not a brotherhood to you, your in the wrong one!
I am easy going, love the fun of music,(after all if it's not fun what's the point?) and easy to work n play with my range is in the lower registers, such as godsmack, FFDP, (have done these bands incl. slipknot,etc.) but I have done some van halen, stevie ray vaughn, pink floyd, hendrix,etc.(not sure if I still could! as I am a smoker) in half step tuning. I'm best suited for a band who tunes full step down (cgcfad) or lower for metal. But half step or std. for blusey/ classic rock/pop music works. Aww hell--standard n let run with it! I like a challenge! (real reason for lower tunings was all the screaming type music I used to do with bands)
I like various styles of music. I'm not your guy for 80s hair rock ,Whitesnake,ratt, Maiden,type stuff, my range is too low :) But im not Barry White low! lol, Take a listen to some of the samples i posted here, you'll get the idea.
I aim to find the right group of guys and play out for sure, but can't make a full time thing of this with family either. We never know where music can take us.
I intend to do some home studio work shortly and get some more and good quality samples up for your listening as i know it streamlines the process to hear players (wish more bands seeking singers would post samples of their tunes for us to hear), and singers before the risk of wasting time. But trust me, with the right guys, I Could be your guy! Let it be said, once i'm comfortable with something I'm usually in for the long haul! While listening to the samples I provided realize that I am out of practice and haven't been singing regularly, I do bounce back relatively fast though, (as i said) so within a few practices I'd likely be good to go!
I am open to possibilities of a starting band,seasoned band,or just someone with like minds to jam with sometimes. My influences are all over the board (did the frank sinatra cover for mom by the way) LOL
I love to sing and have played for audiences of over 600-1200. The choice list only allows me 3 music genre choices, but i am into some acoustic,listen to some classical, southern rock, alternative/modern rock (for sure), minimal country but can sing it, cover/tribute, metal !!!, blues,classic rock. I really love all styles of music, if i like it ,i listen!
