ABOUT

I've always done original rock with some blues influence and somewhat of an edge and sometimes a punk influence. To be totally clear, it's not Dream Theater, think more like what used to be called "garage rock". I've a handful of songs and mainly looking for a drummer in my age "area" to get together with and see how things "feel". I work stupid long hours at the day job, so I'm thinking Saturday or even Sunday afternoons or Friday or Saturday evenings to start or at first.

I guess I do have a short term goal...meet a drummer or two...shut the door, play and see how it all sounds and feels, and if there's something there, perhaps I could be a sideline project for the drummer, and perhaps if there's a drummer that has some musical ideas, I could even come up with someone to work on songs with (fantasy thought, just throwing it out there)

I'm extremely open minded on music, I'm not opposed to new ideas and miss sharing ideas and thoughts and the cross pollination of working with others.

If you're a drummer that just wants to play with all of the above in mind, I'd welcome a first time get together, with you understanding that it might simply be a chance for you to play as I dust off the cobwebs of time. I don't want to put myself down, but also don't want to come accross arrogant or grandiose...hope that makes sense.

Hate drama, love humor, and this could be a one time thing or ongoing. No pressures, just want to enjoy.

I'm a former band guitarist, just wanting to get back into some things, as time permits and enjoy the pleasure of playing with others...no agenda, , ideally I'd like to shut myself in a room with a drummer and jam some things out, get my feet back under me, and experience something I've missed doing for far too long.

Influences

Everything is an influence, as far as what I like or grew up with or enjoy...
Grew up with the Led Zeppelin / Beatles / Cream / Hendrix...Black Sabbath
Spent way more money then I care to remember seeing everyone from, in no particular order...
Blue Oyster Cult, Pat Travers, Michael Schenker, Robin Trower, Cheap Trick, Kansas, YES, the Moody Blues, Chicago, the Outlaws, Journey, Van Halen, Queen, Thin Lizzy...David Bowie...Pat Benatar, the POLICE....and a long list of opening bands on the way UP or on the way to obscurity
Sounding pigeon holed on the list above let's not leave out Willie Nelson, Michael Martin Murphey, Lyle Lovett, the Supersuckers, Valient Thor, Soundgarden, Bugs Henderson (the late great!)...and it goes on and on...

What's hot on my play list at this time ? Black Star Riders (current album has some great stuff), and CLUTCH...they should be huger then they are !

All of the above could lead to some very bad sterotyping...email and we'll talk, don't overthink, follow your "gut" and make things happen...

EQUIPMENT

Two Each Ibanez 540 Saber guitars, often stereotyped for METAL (I like Metal) and SHRED (ummm, not what I do) players, I just fell in love with them for the feel and weight. Just sayin'
As open minded as I used to believe musicians were, I've experienced the baggage other people carry, with comments like "oh you play those, so you're a shredder"...where I'm more like...it's music, don't put me in a box
2x10 Cabinet (plenty loud) powered by interim gear equipment while I put my music life back together, so a Katana 100 Watt head and a Quilter Tone Block.

Bigger gear / MORE PRO gear coming once I get this thing restarted...
