Biography

San Francisco, California -- Geroso -- Romy Geroso (guitar), Tony Geroso (drums), and Gary Geroso (lead vocals) were raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Both music and California are intertwined with their DNA. Their family's history of musicianship reaches back for generations, as do their roots in the Golden State. The Geroso household prized music and from an early age, the brothers were steeped in a vast array of influences through their parents' eclectic record collection. Their father would play guitar and their mother would sing as the young siblings listened and absorbed.

As kids, Romy and Tony were encouraged to pick up guitar and drums, respectively. Gary was the athlete and kept to the outskirts of the family musical pursuits until he recorded a demo of himself singing and shared it with his brothers. Much to everyone's surprise, his voice had incredible range and soul. With the alignment of their particular talents, passion, and the rapport only blood relation can bring, the brothers realized they needed to form a band. It was just a matter of time.

The intervening years saw the Geroso's pursuing other projects. All of them played in different local and nationally touring bands. Romy moved to Los Angeles, where he worked as a record producer. The three didn't get the opportunity to play together until a recent family event brought them to a shared stage. The experience renewed their desire to combine forces and devote themselves to the project full-time. Upon Romy's move back to San Francisco, the three were able to form the band that had existed in the back of their minds for years.

The enthusiasm that comes with finally fulfilling a dream is palpable in Geroso's music, a distinctive brand of catchy pop-rock with R&B undertones. They draw on their particular experiences and write from their hearts -- crafting songs that are relatable and engaging.

Currently recording their first full-length album at their San Francisco Bay Area studio, their forthcoming record is just one vehicle for spreading their enthusiasm about music and life. "Music is a kind of therapy for people," says Romy Geroso of his band's first song, It's Gonna Be Alright. This is the kind of song that can get a listener through their day, their week -- it's a feel-good song."

It's fitting that he emphasizes the emotional aspect of music. Trusting their instincts and doing what feels right is responsible for Geroso's very existence.
