ABOUT

Gail Gordon, being a military brat, hails from nowhere in particular but was born in the UK, Liverpool to be exact, but emigrated to the States with her mum in 1955. At the tender age of 9, after her Dad was assigned to Germany for a tour of duty in 1962, she separated from her family to return to Liverpool and attend school. Cutting teeth on such great musical artists of the 60's era as The Beatles, Dave Clark Five, Kinks, Stones, Moody Blues, Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, and Cilla Black during their heyday on the British charts it was this music that re-enforced an already established musical foundation for Gail. While live performance actually started in the first grade via musical theater roles, her time spent in the UK is really when vocal performance began to take a firm hold and was to further develop upon her return to the States in 1965 up until she graduated from high school in 1972. Distracted while developing a career that would "pay the rent", and traveling most of Europe and South America music had to take a back seat or as she puts it "more like it went permanently in the trunk".

In 1977 she married and relocated to Boulder, Colorado, Then in 1980 moved to the Roaring Fork Valley just outside Aspen. It wasn't until 1986 that Gail once again took to up voice, pursuing live performance fronting a number of local music projects, and a brief return to musical theater while studying with vocal coach Julie Paxton. Over the years, she had the good fortune to share stages with the likes of Bobbie Mason, BB King, Patti LaBelle, Jimmy Ibbotson, John Oates, Francine Reed, Joe Cocker, and Robert Randolph. But don’t hold the name dropping against her, too much, of these rare opportunities Gail simply says “I was just in the right place at the right moment, nothing more. These were opportunities of a lifetime and I learned so much. I will be eternally grateful and I am truly blessed by the experience I garnered while living there.” In 2001, on the verge of a divorce, she packed up and relocated again. This time to the mountains of central New Mexico and once again music had to go on the back burner while she established a life for herself there.

It’s Gail’s capabilities and experience with musical theater, jazz, r&b, soul, rock, gospel, country, classical and blues; especially blues, that make it hard to pin down any particular style for her. Dubbed “the chameleon voice” by producer Steve Cole, Gail can do it all with true conviction. Simply stated, she is the real deal; a terrific talent, artist and entertainer. She’s a Pro!
