The Hip Hop artist Gin Oakain Rose in a single parent home in the small city of Midland, TX. Gin Oakain and his little sister were raised a product of a broken home where his mother was trapped in an inescapable lifestyle of illegal pharmaceutical distribution. Gin Oakains greatest love at the time became his greatest pain which was caused by the impact of his mother being sent to TDC to serve a 5 to 10 year bid for drug distribution. Now forced to move on once again but this time one person short the change from childhood to man hood began at the age of 10. At an early age Gin Oakain was taught the rules of life from Pimps, Thieves, Ex-cons, Thugs, Number Runners, Hoers and Drug addicts. It would be ludicrous to believe that a lifestyle of this manner would not affect his walk, talk and over all outlook on life. Threw the hard times of his mother's incarceration Gin Oakain was watched over by his grandmother and grandfather. Gin Oakain began trying to find the road to riches and freedom from the neighborhood which had taken his mother and so many others before away the day after his mother's incarceration. With basketball not showing any promise and his lifestyle becoming darker by the day poetry became a form of expression, a form of relief, but mainly a form of freedom.

'The first tape I stole was Tupac's, Strictly For My Niggaz and sure I had listed to other tapes of rappers my bigger brothers had but no one made me fell like I had someone who knows what I feel like before like that man' with Gin Oakain writing ability vastly growing and a search of self closely in the distance their was no question that he would be great at what ever he saturated his skills in. Gin Oakain told me the first time he rapped it was in Midland Freshman High School gym the story is a gang of older guy's had overheard some one saying that once Gin Oakain learned how to rap he would be unstoppable. Thus he was approached by the gang and told to rap but the trick was it couldn't be anything previously written. The word on the streets is he raped off the top of his head for 10 minutes straight to a beat that was being pounded out on the gymnasium stands. The whole time his eye's were open but he told me he never noticed the crowd that had surrounded them at the least 35 heads bobbing simultaneously. 'This is when I knew what I was going to do in my life' is what he said with his eyes glaring out the window with passion as if staring into the future. Gin Oakain went on to win 8 consecutive Crown Royal talent shows in Midland, TX with his group MSP. Yet he was not able to sign to a major label causing him to make a decision on whether to stay home or pursue a military career. With his choice being made, Gin Oakain began his military career in the United States Air Force.
