Ginger Harmon was born on June 17, 1975, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Raised in Gaffney, South Carolina, Ginger is the daughter of Rita Clary Harmon- an accomplished pianist and organist- and the late Jeff Harmon- known for playing “Taps” at area funerals and veterans events. After exhibiting musical potential at an early age, Ginger began formal piano lessons at the age of four. Ginger continued with piano training over the years, including through Limestone College, Hames Music, at private homes and while at Clemson University.
Ginger began playing flute at the age of twelve, when she signed up for band at school. Almost immediately, churches began hiring Ginger to play for their services. From age twelve through eighteen, Ginger’s only training on flute was through high school band.
From 1993-1998 Ginger attended Clemson University. While at Clemson, Ginger began her true formal flute training under the tutelage of Dr. Rhea Jacobus. Also at Clemson, Ginger was an active participant in Tiger Band,
Symphonic Band and Flute Choir, as well as private lessons in both flute and piano. She also spent a summer abroad in Italy studying music and was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, a co-ed music fraternity.
Since graduating in 1998, Ginger has appeared at numerous area churches for regular services, weddings and other special music. Ginger has also been heard in the pit orchestra at Limestone College, for such productions as “Annie” and “Beauty and the Beast.” Most recently, Ginger performed at Prime Outlets in Gaffney, South Carolina, as part of their Coca Cola Summer Concert Series.
Ginger continues to perform as a flautist wherever she is needed. In addition to performing, Ginger enjoys giving private music lessons on both flute and piano.

Rita Harmon is the church organist for Limestone Presbyterian Church and a retired elementary school teacher both classroom and music- and private piano teacher. Rita is available for weddings, funerals and most other church services. An excellent sight-reader with a vast repertoire, Rita can perform on short notice. Rita may be contacted through Ginger Harmon Music.
