The Glenn Palmer Trio is a high energy keyboard based jazz and blues group out of the Kirksville, MO, (however, we live in the Green City, MO area). We do Jazz Standards with vocals; Blues with vocals; Vegas Rat Pack tunes with vocals; Hard Funk; Instrumental Jazz/Rock/Fusion/Experimental (Weather Report); Swing Classics and a little bit of Southern Rock. We have been together for three years and have played several gigs. Our bass/tenor-sax player just quit the group for family reasons, and we are seeking either a bass player/vocalist, or a guitar player/vocalist who can also play bass or keyboard bass, or a keyboard player/vocalist.

This is a total professional situation, and we are very serious about the group and performing. We have over 5 sets of mastered material, originals, a demo CD, etc… however, we are willing to add new tunes to accommodate the new member of the group, and possibly change directions to a more blues based fare if that person were a guitar player, and depending on their vocal skills. In fact, we are leaning towards doing less jazz and more blues tunes. I sing about 2/3 of the songs, and the guy who quit the group sang the rest.

Because we are a trio, I cover over half of the bass parts on keyboards, and the bass/sax player covered the bass parts when he wasn’t playing sax. All of this was meticulously arranged to provide seamless transitions in the music. When I send you the demo CD you will hear what I’m talking about. The new member will have to be able to play bass lines if you are keyboard player or a guitarist, leads and rhythm, read chord changes/charts, have a great ear, sing some lead vocals, sing some harmony vocals, and be a killer player on your instrument. This will be a lot of work learning our set lists, but for the right musician, the challenge and the payoff with this group has many possibilities.
