ABOUT

To hear my current projects, please go to be: "blue mimi demo" or "blue mimi trio" My reason for this post is to see if anybody might need me so I can pick up some additional income and meet some musicians with simpatico mind sets. I'm very versatile. Good guitarist; acoustic or electric, rhythm or lead. I can easily front an act but very comfortable supporting others. I enjoy bass but guitar is my main thing. I have one of those voices where I can sound quite a bit like other people. Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and others. Can find a vocal harmony quickly. Ideally you are a duo or band with a rehearsed repertoire and jobs lined up. Lately, I am learning old jazz / vocal tunes but country, southern rock, bluegrass, lounge. blues-based rock, folk is all good too. I have a mardi-gras set, a valentines day set, labor day, Secular Christmas, Oktoberfest (Me on bass) etc. I am a good songwriter with a variety of songs including comedic if needed. I'm 63 years old, semi-retired and fat. You don't want to see me in spandex. Looking for people who are relaxed, good-humored experienced players. I prefer to practice on my own and don't want to rehearse with the ensemble all the time. For me practice is what you do on your own to get your part tight enough and rehearsal is about hammering out details of how ya'll will work as a team. I have a song list of around 600 songs. I have done over 4000 paid shows in my life but over half were for short money and seldom got the good dollar.jobs Not interested in touring or trying to reach stardom. I'm not interested in emo, thrash, disco, grunge, hip-hop, rap, highly processed or extremely loud music. My main downsides that I am aware of are: I know very little music from the past 30 or more years, I can't physically stand for 3 or more hours. Need a stool or chair most of that time. Also, I need charts. I know that's an issue for a lot of people. I feel bad about it but them's my main issues as I see it.

EQUIPMENT

I have a small PA. Roland BA330 four channel combo amp, Ev 12 speaker and Alto 8 speaker that cranks for it's size. I have a Mackie board I want to sell but it works fine. Lots of cables pedals, rack mounted compressor, pre-amp, EQ. To be honest, although I have plenty of stuff. I like keeping it simple. For my duo, I use the roland and drive a powered speaker as a slave. This is usually fine for small to moderate indoor venues and sounds surprisingly good. I have lots of guitars that sound good and a Blackstar practice amp that is easy to lug around and has an out if I need it. No more 80-pound amps for me. I keep everything under 35 pounds.
