ABOUT

Please see remarks at the end of this description expanding on level of commitment and gigs per week.
Played semi-pro during the '70's-80's as bass player and one of the lead/ harmony singers for Blue Stone, Second Helping and The Hanover Better Boys mostly with my '80 P-Bass. Playing country, western swing, wiregrass (what we called electric bluegrass), rockabilly, americana.
Took off 10 years to engage in various and sundry adventuring.
Played mid 90's to early 00's in klezmer/ middle eastern style music employing 5-string and fretless electric basses and upright and acoustic bass guitar.
Have continued to work on my musical art and stretch myself in as many genre's as possible...jazz, blues, punk, celtic, bluegrass, americana.
I've spent my time most recently perfecting my acoustic bass guitar tone and upright bass playing skills.
I also sing and play acoustic guitar and harmonica.
I play fingerstyle and listen to all the other instruments and the vocalist and play whatever supports, compliments and enhances what the band as a whole is doing rythym, melodic, harmonic.
As for singing, my biggest influences have been Waylon Jennings, Gregg Allman, Gordon Lightfoot, John Starling, Lyle Lovett, John Cowan, Bruce Springsteen, Jerry Jeff Walker and Bob Dylan.
I am looking to play with accoustic based players primarily.
Right now I'm just looking to play for fun BUT....if the chemistry is good and the music is too good not to get more serious about, than I would be more committed..perhaps much more.
This would also effect how much I would be willing to gig. Just for fun now..but if things go well my level of commitment can easily upgrade.
