I have several amos but my fav is my small 1950 Signet 22 tube head amp I personally modified into 22 watts of intense powerful guitar tone. Singing and pick'n country music has been my life and lots of history to go with it. I played on the road for years then in 2000 after becoming a single dad, I moved myself and my two son who were 10 & 12 at the time to Hot Springs Arkansas because of the school environment. Thier grown and on their own. I. Single, tho I have a girlfriend and she is from a very musical family herself so she gets me. Plus she sings awesome herself. I want to get back to playing with a band but in Hot Springs vs there really isnt anywhere to play and no one to play with to top it all off. Check out my sound cloud page and all my songs I wrote and produced at my facility, Studio C. I need to find and play with the "Real Deal Musician's". I read number charts ect. I'm used to playing with A player musicians and want enjoy my life makimg good tight sound music with the right band.

Got to play a little if everything to develop ones own true sound, at least that's what I believe.

"Brothers" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr.Copyright 1998/2014: by Greg Cardenas Sr. All Rights Reserved. I first started this song about a friend of mine who was dying from cancer in late 1998 and never really had it the way I wanted to be. Then in 2004 I got a call about my brother Nick Jr. He had went down hard after fight brain cancer for almost 13 years and so I spent the next 2 month with my brother helping take care of him night and day before he passed away. While being by my brothers side I finished the song and sang it to him A Capella everyday when we were alone. He would just smile at me and say, "Don't worry little brother, can't you see the Angel's in the window." WOW, that was sweet and very hard all at the same time. So this song is for my Big Brother, Nick Cardenas Jr. The second verse talks about helping him with a fight he was in. Well now you know what kind of fight I was writing of
"Lord It's You" written by; Greg Cardenas Sr.
"Lord It's You" written by; Greg Cardenas Sr."Lord It's You". I wrote this song in 2007 in Orange Beach, Alabama whilst spending the week there attending the Frank Brown International Song Writers Festival. I was sitting on the 10th floor balcony of my room looking out over the the quite beach front at the beautiful November blue ocean. I was pitching peanuts out to the seagulls and looking up at the bright blue sky, and the rest is pure history. All blessings from God!!!
"Watching Over You" written by; James Clyde Adams and Greg Cardenas Sr.
"Watching Over You" written by; James Clyde Adams and Greg Cardenas Sr."Watch Over You" was a song that started with one of my closest friends James Clyde Adams. Clyde had come up with this song idea that he asked me if I wanted to help him finish. James Clyde and me have written a lot of songs together and I guess we'll just keep on doing this as long as God will bless us too. James Clyde came up with this song idea that was so overwhelming to me when he showed it to me, because he was with his mama when she passed away just 3 days after his dad had past away and that's a hard one to write about and find the write words that can be put into such a short time, in a song. All blessing from God!!!
"FEEL" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr.
"FEEL" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr.Copyright 2008 by: Greg Cardenas Sr. I wrote this song while I was hanging out in my recording studio one afternoon on January 2008. I had my guitar in my hands sitting behind my console with it plug in direct and a Baby Bottle microphone sit in front of me while I was mixing some tracks to a song I had written and just recently cut demo tracks for it by myself. Even though the song was mixing was my own song, I said to myself, (out loud LOL) " Greg, great tracks, bad song." So I muted the vocal track only, and then rubbed my hand across the front of my console as I was sat back in my chair, thinking. As the begging of the first verse of the tracks I had just created started to play, and after sliding my hand across the recording console, The words "FEEL, FEEL, The Beat'n Of My Heart, FEEL." Anytime I'm working and writing on one of my songs I always have a live mic "recording live", but muted during listening or mixing, in case I say something that sounds corrective or a simple verbal not to remind myself of something to remember like maybe a fix need etc... and From the moment I said, "FEEL,' I sang the words to my song, ("FEEL") with out stopping at any time and was scribbling the words down to my note pad as fast as they were coming from my mouth, and BAMM! I had just written, "FEEL." The truth and nut'n but the truth, so help me GOD! And Lord knows I love God!!!
"When I'm Down My Woman Picks Me Up" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr.
"When I'm Down My Woman Picks Me Up" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr.Copyright 1999 by: Greg Cardenas Sr. I wrote this song on a Saturday afternoon after getting up round 12:pm after performing 2 two high energy nights on Stage at the Reo Palm Isle. The song came to mind and I grabbed my guitar up and started writing the words down on the back of an electric bill envelop LOL. It took about 3 passes and this song was written. I then wrote up a chart and showed the newly written number chart to my band that Saturday evening a hour or so before show time and we performed it that night in front of a crowd of around 1500 people and they filled the dance floor and my heart was filled with gratefulness. I give thanks to God each and everyday for the blessings of my musical talent he gave to me starting at the age of 4 years old, and I also want to say thank you so much to my Uncle Marvin Carrell for teaching me to start playing my guitar at 4 years old as well. Thank you Lord for my music!!!
"Make It Through" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr. and Rodney Allen Roach
"Make It Through" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr. and Rodney Allen RoachCopyright 2009 by Greg Cardenas Sr. and Rodney Allen Roach. We wrote this song for a very special event. I had been invited to perform at the Mercy Hospital back in 2009 for the "National Cancer Survivors Day Celebration", at the Mercy Hospitals annual event, since I am a cancer survivor myself. So me, Rodney, and his brother Rodgey Roach put together a 3 piece acoustic show for the event. We came up with the words to this song for the people who had lost someone to cancer and what it would be like to make it through day by day, trying to get use to a new life without the person(s) you loved so. This song is about someone waking up each day as they work through the journey of life after loosing loved ones.
"Dusty Picture" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr. and Rodney Allen Roach
"Dusty Picture" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr. and Rodney Allen Roach(written by: Greg Cardenas Sr. and Rodney Allen Roach in 2008/copyright 2008 by Greg Cardenas Sr. and Rodney Allen Roach. ALL RIGHT RESERVED). Rodney had started this song idea when he presented the song idea to me. This is the only song Rodney and me had ever written together that took a little time to finish. We had worked together on the song and couldn't figure out where to go with the second verse so we set it aside to get ready to make our way to the Frank Brown International Song Writers Festival in Orange Beach Alabama for a week of awesome song writing friend and loads of great song writers in 2008. The first night we were there, about 3:am I suddenly woke with the words to the second verse right out of my sleep, so I went running into Rodney's room and started trying to wake him up. Of course he was like, "What the hecks up brother!!!" I said bro, I've got it, I've got it!!! He said, "WHAT!" LOL. I said, "the second verse to Dusty Picture", and I started singing it to him, and he said, " that's it, sing it to me again in the morning when I'm wake LOL." There's always been a very special friendship between me and Rodney for over 25 years now with writing songs together. It's has always been magic between him and I behing a pen and paper. I pray God let's me and Rodney Allen Roach write many more together, many many more!!!
"Country Way" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr. and Rodney Allen Roach
"Country Way" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr. and Rodney Allen Roachwritten by: Greg Cardenas and Rodney Roach. copyright by Greg Cardenas Music 2007/2014 Rodney Roach and myself, were in my recording studio for practice when he was simply playing a melody on the guitar and I said , "hey Rod, play that again, and then together we both ended up with this song. The evening we wrote the song we in my studio, I had the recorder turned on and running in case we did something off the top of our heads, and that's just what we did that night. The moment he had the melody together I just started singing the first line, "See the green on the mountain tops in the morning," and I came up with the words completely off the top of my head and Rodney's melody on the guitar spilled out like the sound of pouring rain, all into place simultaneously as the song was written in one single take. Not one word was to be changed from that day. The opening line of the song was something that had been on my mind from early that morning when I was visiting my friend Bill Bagby, at his and his wife Belinda's beautiful ranch whilst watching the morning unfold as the sun was coming over the top of the mountains here in Hot Springs Arkansas, and I said to Bill, "I love the green on the mountain tops in the morning." That line stayed with me all day until Rodney's wonderful talent with his guitar in his hands, brought together my favorite composition of words to ever come from my thick headed mind. Rodney and I have written so many songs together in this "one take write" so many times. Rodney's inspiration in my life as a County Artist and song writer has been nothing short of "Pure BLESSINGS FROM GOD."
"Nothin' I Wouldn't Do For You" written by Greg Cardenas Sr
"Nothin' I Wouldn't Do For You" written by Greg Cardenas SrCopyright 2008 by Greg Cardenas Sr. All Rights Reserved. I wrote this song in February 2005 one afternoon while sitting in my back yard. After I had written the first verse and chorus I started singing it over and when it came time for the second verse I just somehow started humming the second verse and then I felt that the humming part was a great wordless second verse and kept it just that way.
"Reo Tonight" written by Greg Cardenas Sr.
"Reo Tonight" written by Greg Cardenas Sr.Copyright 1998/2014: by Greg Cardenas Sr. All Rights Reserved. I wrote this song one night after having a giant crowd of about 1500 at the Reo Palm Isle in Longview Texas. That night before taking the stage the club owner and my friend, Max Singleton said to me, "Hey Greg, You should write a song about the Reo." So after getting home around 3am, I came up with the Reo Tonight song in about 15 minutes. The next night, Saturday, I gave charts to my band and we performed the song and it became a big hit with the followers and also became the theme song for our radio adds.

"Don't Run Away" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr. and Rodney Allen Roach
"Don't Run Away" written by: Greg Cardenas Sr. and Rodney Allen RoachCopyright 2008 by Greg Cardenas Sr. All Rights Reserved. This song was written in the spring of 1990. Me and my dear friend Rodney Allen Roach was working on some songs in my home studio one evening and enjoying the camaraderie of the moment. Then Rodney started playing this beautiful melody on the keyboards and after a little arrangement time of the melody we had the recorder going and I just started singing the words to the song from right off the top of my head to Rodney's melody and in one single take the song was written and recorded for the first time and now you get to listen to the latest version right here and now. Great memories always when me and Rodney write together!!!
"Little Word" written by Greg Cardenas Sr.
"Little Word" written by Greg Cardenas Sr.Copyright 1998/2014: by Greg Cardenas Sr. All Rights Reserved. I wrote this song in late 1999. I was on my way to perform at the Reo Palm Isle when the first words to this song came to mind. As soon as I pulled up to the club I ran inside as they were just finishing up with dance lessons. There were about a 150 people the for dance class, so I ran up to the stage, grabbed a tablet that sat on the edge for song request from fans and began to write the words down on paper right there in front of everyone then I sang the song with my flat top guitar and they all started clapping. So when I finished, i wrote a music chart out so when the band would arrived I could show them the number charts. That night after reviewing the charts in the office with my band, we performed the song the same night in front of more than a thousand people and the crowd went crazy loving it. It became like my song, "Naomi," and instant nightly request from then on. "Thank you God for my songwriting talents you have blessed me with". Greg Cardenas Sr.
