ABOUT

I am well seasoned drummer that has played 100's of gigs: honky tonk dives, society weddings, musicals like "Cats" and "West Side Story," and tons of stuff in between. I am interested in finding a gigging band, trio, or duo that wants to play interesting and challenging music covering a range of genres.

• I am serious about playing to the best of my ability, but have no interest in trying to make a living at music alone.
• Drugs and/or alcohol are not a part of my stage persona and I will gravitate towards those who feel the same.
• I expect to rehearse with the band once a week. More often is possible if we are getting ready for something big coming up on short notice.
• I tend to practice (me alone) three to six times a week. Being prepared for rehearsal is important and I also have other commitments outside of music.

Influences

I have not dedicated any time trying to exactly mimic any particular drummer. Capturing the essence of music being played is my first priority. Beyond the basics, I will mix in different ideas from a variety of sources. If it doesn't groove, next time you can count on hearing me trying something different.

I have lots of stuff, but my goal is to go to a gig with no more than is needed to pull it off. My set-up is built according to the demands of the music and not the visual esthetic.

I have many cymbals: Zildjian, Paiste, Stagg, Wuhan
