Band to Join, Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboard.

ABOUT

I have a long distance band with a vocalist in OKC, but I'm looking to also do something locally to regularly play live. I am looking for a vocalist and maybe one or two multi-instrumentalists to form a band,
or just join an existing band. The sound I'm looking for is a mix of a modern rock sound (with some traditional influences) and new wave - something dancy and moody.

My main instrument is guitar, but I have been playing violin & keys since I was young. I can capably play bass guitar and mandolin. As far as vocals are concerned, I can do back up, but probably not lead vocals.

Stationed on the North-Northeast side of San Antonio, solid day job (work remotely), reliable transportation. As such, I'm all in for playing shows anywhere as long as I can still check in with work during the day.

Side note: it is 2024. There is no excuse for not having at least one photo and a soundclip!

My long-distance band is Loreto and you can check us out on Spotify, Pandora, or Apple Music. We released an EP last year. I do everything except vocals.

Influences

I know that this section has the potential to read like a book, so I'll just keep this list down to my biggest influences and names that are easily recognizable (I honestly listen to just about everything): the Kills, John Frusciante, QOTSA, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Minus the Bear, the Mars Volta, Velvet Underground, and Led Zeppelin… Also, almost anything new wave, from '78-'83: B-52's, Talking Heads, Joy Division, New Order, Gary Numan, David Bowie, the Smiths, Blondie, and Billy Idol.

I also enjoy 70's/80's Japanese City Pop like Junko Sakurada, Anri, & Yumi Arai. And bands inspired by the sound like Sakanaction & Ginger Root.

Local bands I'm listening to: TC Superstar, Sasha & the Valentines, Why Bonnie, Manifest Destiny's Child, Spirit Ghost, Hey Cowboy, mindshrine, and the Irons.

EQUIPMENT

I have a solid set-up for doing live shows mic'ed or unmic'ed. I also have a reliable set-up for recording vocals, keys, and stringed instruments at home... basically everything except live drums, but I use a drum machine anyways.
