Band to Join.

ABOUT

Gigged & recorded in the early 80s Boston music scene with rock, punk, experimental and funk musicians.

Presently looking for musicians or a complete band for gigging and general musical mayhem. My preferences lean towards The Meters/WAR/Funkadelic type jam/groove music but dirge or "roots" music or any form of music where emphasis is on primal beats, rythm or a strong groove.
In addition to the obvious funk, reggae, ska (etc.) tunes examples that would fit this criteria would include stuff like:
Moby Dick - Led Zepplin
Last Child - Aerosmith
Back in Black - AC/DC
Rock-n-Roll Hootchie Koo - Edgar Winter/Rick Derringer
anything by Killing Joke
anything from Ill Communication, Check Your Head or The Mix Up - Beastie Boys
and so on.

I'm interested in doing ORIGINAL material... I'm not into being in a cover band. In addition to that, I'm a bassist... I don't showboat or have a desire to get into the limelight... I'm an integral part of a bands' rythm section which builds the foundation of a song. I view the drummer as my closest ally. That being said I'm also not interested in being "filler" to some solo accoustic act nor do I care to be in a band in which the previous "bassist" was merely the least talented guitarist of the group or was the girlfriend of the lead singer.

I'm not an accomplished musician but have spoken the language of music almost my entire life.
