*******************************************************

Over 30 yrs. drumming. Strong rock and jazz background. Years of gigs and recordings playing rock, pop, jazz, latin, country, folk, etc. Have contributed to many original and cover projects as a regular member as well as side man.

Studied w/ jazz drumming's legendary giant Alan Dawson as well as Berklee prof/author Bob Kaufman and Springfield's swing jazz guru Greg Caputo. Have chops as well as a pocket player. Finesse with a strong sense of the tune are my strengths.

Interested in gigging/recording with any serious working bands or solo artists - pick-up gigs or more steady work. Jazz, rock, pop, fusion, folk-rock, contemporary alternative, country, funk, etc.

I love ALL great music and love to play in a variety of styles. I take each style I play seriously and use my skills & wide range of tastes to compliment the music I am playing.

Have been singing for over 40 years - performing in public since age 4 from solo to city choruses. Have provided tight harmonies and lead vox behind the kit in many bands. Also have strong piano/keys/writing skills after 32+ yrs.

Influences

First and most important - my parents, who taught me what music is about and who continue to inspire me!

For drummers, basically, the more melodic as well as pocket players get my attention in jazz, rock or whatever.

Early influences from the classic rock era (which I still love) Ian Paice, Carl Palmer, Bill Bruford, Alan White, Phil Ehart, Neil Peart and Phil Collins. Also love Alan Dawson (my teacher and jazz mentor), Philly Joe Jones, Elvin Jones, Roy Haynes, Paul Wertico (Pat Metheny), Jack DeJohnette, Peter Erskine, Bill Stewart, Jeff Porcaro, Steve Gadd, Simon Phillips and Vinnie Colaiuta of course!

Outside of my drumming heroes, I'm inspired by classical instrumental music, classical choral music, jazz in its many incarnations - Pat Metheny is a longtime fav., folk, rock - heavy and otherwise, the outdoors, good writers, great films and so on.

EQUIPMENT

I use Taye, Pearl, Ludwig and Gretsch drums as well as Zildjian, Sabian and UFIP cymbals. I've got a variety of gear to suit whatever gig/scene I am playing in!...small to large, quiet to loud.

...and also, Subaru!
