ABOUT

I am attempting to gather musicians in the area for planning jam sessions and maybe even larger events if we can get enough people interested. The concept is based on a group that I worked with in Maryland befor I moved to Utah last year. The group is open to musicians at all levels, from very skilled pro musicians, all the way through new and novice players. The idea is to build a community of musicians of all levels can get together to jam, plan events to play out, or possibly form new bands.

The group that I left back in MD had about 100 members, we held jam sessions about once a month and twice a year we put on multi band show cases - which were a lot of fun - basically we would organize the group into 5 to 7 'flash bands' about three months prior to the event. During that time the bands would come up with and rehearse a 45 min. set based on event theme (Decades, Band Tribute, Femal Leads, etc). We would find a local restraunt/bar that would give us their stage for a day, take it over for the day, and enjoy playing/listening! It was a great way for new musicans and us 9 to 5's to get to experience a 'live' stage

At this point I dont if I will get enough folks to do show cases like that, but I am really hoping to at the very least get enough to keep a steady pace of monthly jam sessions going.

Please check it out, pass it on, and maybe sign up if you like the idea s://.meetup/wasatch-rockers/
