ABOUT

I started out playing Bluegrass in the early 70’s where I developed a pretty solid rhythm guitar style along with some flatpicking lead rides on Fiddle & Banjo tunes. I picked up the Mandolin along the way and began to add that to the mix. I eased my way into singing harmonies and then got into singing lead vocals.
In the early 80's I wanted to expand my musical horizons into Country & Country/Rock with a bit of Classic Rock, Southern Fried & Blues Rock sprinkled in. So I went about putting a band together. Once we got our chops up we started playing all the local clubs and events pretty much throughout the 80's into the early 90's. I was co-front man (the other front person was a woman) in a five piece Country-Rock band comprised of 2 girls & 3 guys.
This time around I would like to do more of a Country & Classic Rock kinda thing..., real danceable stuff!
As far as playing ability.., I can cover pretty much anything in the way of rhythm guitar, and while my lead guitar playing chops have never reached the point of being a "lead guitarist" per say..., but I can certainly get my licks & runs in to fill out the sound and play a few solo's here and there along the way!
For vocals.., I like singing both lead and back up..., and prefer to do both. My harmonies are not always instantaneous...., but once I find 'em… I'm good to go!!
My mission these days would be to connect with some people that take music seriously enough that they take pride in putting out good solid, well thought out arrangements..., but not so serious that it sucks all the fun out of it..., I'm all about the fun!! I don’t read music, but I can learn just about anything in pretty short order! I don't much care for improvising my parts.., I like to dig in, work it out and have my parts tight!
