So this is moreso a concept of a band since right now, it's kinda just me, myself and I, but I've got this kick ass idea that blends my love of comic books and metal. Now I know what you're thinking, how the holy fu*k can you turn comics metal and not be a laughing stock. I ain't talking about dressing up like fu*king Batman or any of that sh*t, no, I'm looking at the concept of the emotional spectrums the Lantern Corps follow; Willpower, Fear, Avarice, Hope, Compassion, Love, Rage, Life and Death.
I grew up on a lot of KISS and later bands like Slipknot and GWAR always blew my sh*t away, so I figured I'd take influence from their examples and treat this band thing as just as much as it being about the performance, the manner in which the music is presented, just as much as it is about the music itself. So my ultimate plan for the blend for the comic and metal influences would take that concept of the different emotional spectrums and turn them into a Slipknot/GWAR-esque creature. (With a little bit of KISS inspired sh*t too, because I low-key wanna pull a Gene Simmons God of Thunder type of sh*t and spit blood packets on stage)
As for musical tone, I hate to hit that nail so many fu*king times after it's already been pretty solidly stated Slipknot is one of the biggest influences for this band, that's about the path I wanna follow in the concept of this band. Also as stated before, it's just me, I can play guitar but I don't own one so I've been just focussing on vocals and sh*t for the last three or four years since one of my sh*tty ass old bandmates stole my fu*king SG. I'm kind self deprecating as fu*k so I think I sound like fu*king chapped ass after a long day in the desert, but like literally everyone I know says I sound like a weird crossroad between Corey Taylor, Dave Grohl and Matt Shadows, beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess, not sure I agree with them but I have kinda stamped the nickname my brother gave me in our old band "Great Value (thats Wal-Mart brand for those not in the know) Corey Taylor" on my forehead for this sh*t and decided fu*k it. It's been something I've wanted to do since fu*king middle school but all my other bands weren't ballsy enough to do it or thought I was fu*king insane for even coming up with the idea (to be fair, you gotta be at least a little fu*ked up to come up with this kinda sh*t anyway lol)
Anyway I think I've taken enough of your fu*king time with MY ranting, it's your turn, if you're down feel free to shoot an email to this address: InBlackestNightBandoutlook (it's being fu*ky with the and . com portions)
(Also I don't have any demos to show off of anything for multiple reasons but mostly because I ain't got any of my recording sh*t unpacked from the move my family recently went through)
