Female Vocalist forming Indie Folk/ Country/ Americana duo
Looking for a male vocalist/ guitarist who is strong enough to hold the stage with that alone because I am not a guitarist. I am a soulful, earthy, intuitive vocalist, I love to harmonize in unusual ways, and I am teaching myself the drums and piano, so I’m always learning.
Looking for a person who wants to play live regularly and do some recordings.
I am from Austin and I primarily sang in New York City and London so I’ve been around very aggressively commercial music cultures and I’d love to just enjoy the music and leave our egos at the door.
Happy doing covers in an interesting way, reinventing the shared genres with country to keep growing the idiom. Also open to writing originals. The original music I currently write is experimental soundscapes and electronic music so country is a bit unfamiliar and new to me.
This is me singing background vocals on an Americana album with the artist Skip Yarrow—I sing background vocals on all songs except “Slea Head” and “Brother.”
This is my experimental stuff if you want a taste of a completely different side of my creativity. Click on the file “Mermaids” and you’ll hear what I make in the privacy of my own studio when nobody is listening:
And this is me singing blues in my old blues band from when I lived in New York:
Music that I’d love to play in this duo:
Dearly Departed—Shakey Graves and Esme Patterson
Can’t Let Go—Lucinda Williams
Down By The Water—The Decemberists
Without Your Love—Chris Stapleton
Cover Me Up—Zac Brown Band
Falling Slowly—Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova
Weary Kind—Ryan Bingham
Sons and Daughters—Allman Brown and Liz Lawrence
On the Road Again—Jack Broadbent
Soul of a Man—Maria Muldaur
Dust to Dust—The Civil Wars
