Ingrid Salas & Black Shadow are a Latin-pop band featuring 17 year old singing and dance sensation, Ingrid Salas. Black Shadow is a family band where the group offers a bond that enhances the upbeat Caribbean Latin rhythms and passionate ballads from their roots in Veracruz , Mexico . Weather performing at college campuses, cultural festivals, benefits or private parties, the band has an ever-growing fan base and regional network of radio airplay. Ingrid has been singing in public since age three and along with her older sister Perla and brother Jesus, the Salas family has grown up with music all their life. Bandleader and father, Yocundo Salas was a professional resort musician and bandleader on the coast of Veracruz and had even performed in Mexico City , Mexico for the inauguration of previous President Cardenas. Guitarist, Ron Miller, has worked with numerous Grammy - winning artist and has a passion for Latin music, world music, and blues jazz and is originally from El Paso , Texas .

Ingrid always comments, "I love to dance and sing because I feel free and love to connect with the audience because with music and dancing, people can feel happy even if they were sad before you performed for them." "We know that when we perform, represent a strong and vibrant culture and are proud to be offering a festive, Caribbean Latin flavor to the country." Passion

For Ingrid, inspirations initial spark came about from hearing Selena as a three year old child and lead to her choosing to do a Selena Tribute as part of her music program. The Selena influence is very evident in both strong "out front" vocals and dancing while singing -showing a good instinct for entertaining the audience and enjoying her passions -while preserving her love and respect of the legendary artist. The press has covered Ingrid's talents with Telmundo-NBC, Amigo TV, LaVoz Magazine, The Tennessean and others. Ingrid and Perla welcomed Nickelodeon TV and the famous Slime Machine to Nashville and helped promote special guest artist, MENUDO at Centennial Park .

Grace

Performing for various audiences is a pleasure for the band and Ingrid has opened for such established artists as: John Hiatt, performing with Bobby "Sunny" Hebb, 101st Airborne - Fisher House and others. Ingrid loves to travel and traveling to Chicago , Memphis , Atlanta , Louisville and all of Tennessee is a great thrill for the band, meeting people and working towards a stronger fan base. Community support & involvement is a very high priority with the band as they have partnered with St Jude's Children's Hospital, Padre's Contra El' Cancer, O'More College, The Christmas Bells program, 101st Airborne Division -Ft Campbell, Kentucky/ Clarksville, TN and the YMCA of Middle Tennessee.

Ingrid loves to talk about her intense love of performing."I get excited when I perform with the band because people can dance, sing and clap with the band. I get more excited to see the people joining in with us." "I enjoy having people comment on how they enjoyed the band and asking for CD's and autographs." Ingrid noted, "We have a lot of mom's bringing their children to us after shows, especially little girls for autographs and pictures and this is why we work so hard to put on a great show. Most kids see music on TV but are really happy to see and hear exciting dance music live!" I know a lot of fans look to me as a role model so I have to represent them and my family with everything I do and even though, there is more pressure, the reward is great friends, relationships and respect."

Ingrid dice, “ nosotros vemos mucha mamá traer a sus niños a nosotros después de la actuación, especialmente niñas para sus autógrafos y fotografía y de ahí que trabajemos fuerte para poner una gran actuación. ¡La mayoría de los niños ven música en la tele pero son realmente feliz de ver y oír música en vivo ! Sé que muchos fan miran a mí como un modelo a imitar y yo tengo que representarlos y mi familia yo hago e incluso aunque, hay más presión, la recompensa es gran amigos, las relaciones y respeto'.
