I'm a fairly experienced drummer native to the Iowa City area. I'm 43, and have played since I was about 7 or 8 years-old. Looking to form a band, or join a band that is serious about making money but not too serious that it's not fun. I'm looking to play music because I love music, but to justify the time spent in a band (to my wife) I need to bring in some cash as well. I'm not opposed to doing covers (with discussion), and I love to write original drum parts. Played with ACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF VIOLENCE, a band out of Muscatine, Ia. from 2005 to 2010, plus sitting in with other musicians, as well as being in various bands in school.

I have influences from all kinds of music. Hard Rock, metal, progressive, rap, reggae, country, bluegrass, blues, jazz fusion, Latin, classic rock and oldies. My Rock influences include but are not limited to: Nirvana, System of A Down, Tool, The Mars Volta, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Beatles, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Queens Of The Stone Age, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against The Machine, Primus, Jack White, Deftones...

EQUIPMENT
I currently have a double bass 8-piece PDP kit with plenty of cymbals, set up for hard rock or metal. However, since I fractured my back I haven't played much double bass. Would like to focus on single-bass pedal rock stuff for now. I do not have mics or any sound equipment, but that is my next major purchase that I have planned.
I have a practice space at home (Tipton) that could be used as an entire band practice location if necessary. Would just need to work around my wife's schedule for work/school.
