I'm 36 years old and picked up an acoustic guitar for the first time in the summer of 2020. After teaching myself for a few months I hired a great local teacher with whom I still work, and he has greatly improved my abilities across multiple genres and techniques. He suggested I start trying to find other musicians to play with because it will help me get better. I'm not necessarily looking to make music a full time job (I already have one of those!) but I would like to explore playing with other people. Really just looking for people who are casual like me, but hoping to improve. Or maybe a skilled musician with patience for a newbie!

I'm primarily a rock and metal fan. Some of my favorites include: Iron Maiden, Metallica, Mastodon, Chevelle, AC/DC, Ghost, Lamb of God, etc. I also enjoy playing Blues which is my teacher's specialty. I'm pretty open to musical styles!
