The Mark Wheeler band formed back in the Spring of 2006 with a focus on playing the latest in country music hits. With so many groups in the Southwest Louisiana area playing Swamp Pop, Oldies and Cajun Zydeco it was decided that this band would offer something new and fresh! The result has brought the latest music, heard on country radio, to life.
The 5 piece band is made up of lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass guitar, keyboards and drums. The band members are a talented group of local musicians gathered from Dequincy, LA to Port Arthur, TX. It’s a diverse group with many years of experience playing every genre you can imagine. They have come together for the challenge of playing today’s new country!
Lead singer Mark Wheeler has spent more than 20 years working with live sound, studio recording/mastering and singing. He has worked with the Beauregard Parish Fair as talent organizer and performer for more than 10 years. His heart has always been in country music and it shows in his live performances!
In addition to their musical style, they are also focused on particular types of venues. Festivals, fairs, private parties and corporate venues are where you’ll find them bringing fresh, new music to the stage!
Last but not least, not many bands at this level have their own sound and lighting crew. Much less their own “state of the art” sound system! They have a sound system that is capable of playing any outdoor show.
If you are looking for the “whole package” in a country music band the Mark Wheeler Band is the one to call…!
