J Smalls

Band to Join, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Drums, Electronic Music.

Looking for a solid reason to practice again and learn new things besides learning/playing along to songs in my office. New to SA and I'm looking to play good music that gets people dancing. Over the years I have mostly stuck to old school funk, prog, and metal, but I also want to broaden my playing horizons in to old school country (like with pedal steel, and no vocoder or rock beats!!!), rockabilly, and Tejano. My skills are a little rusty at the moment but, muscle memory. Groove is everything!!!

I am an agressive player, and would like to think that I can bring a good meld of groove and technical abililty to the table. One of my strengths is versatility. I am good at giving a band what it needs, not what I think it needs. On the other hand, I am creative and will give my musical opinion when asked. I enjoy creative teamwork in a musical setting. My sight reading skills are lacking, but I have an excellent ear and sense of time. I seek the opportunity to create a totally original sound (don't we all), but I also enjoy playing a wide variety of music so I can excel in a cover band or an original project.
