ABOUT

My name is Jack Wilson and I'm a pedal steel guitarist and multi-instrumentalist from Ventura, California.

If you want to check out my singer songwriter site, its here:

Nimbitmusic/jackewilson

I am primarily into writing original music; if I ever play a cover song, its because I'm able to throw a unique spin on it. I'm strong with lyrics and melody; I enjoy co-writing and can arrange both vocals and music.
My current steel guitar is not a pedal steel, but a 1957 10 string Eddie
Alkire e-harp (or console steel for the uninitiated). My wonderful Mullen
pedal steel was lost in the Thomas fire along with my project studio last
year. I have a new pedal steel in the works, but its not here yet.

Regardless, I can emulate a lot of PSG licks on the e-harp, and I play a custom
tuning that is similar to Sneeky Pete Kleinow's (if you know who he was).

If you're looking for somebody who can play, sing (lead and harmony) and
write fun, hooky songs, as well as play several instruments, then you've
found it.

I'm looking to do those things with a group of professional, dedicated folks, and have a lot of fun following where it leads us. I really want to work with people who can sing as well as play well. Guitar phenoms are a dime-a-dozen. Good singers (especially harmony singers) are rare.
I don't care much for the bar music grind (BTDT) I'd rather play a showcase or open mic for 3-4 people that dig our stuff rather than 200 drunks somewhere.
I'm in it for the love; the vibe. The other stuff will follow if we're true to what we're doing.
Lets do something great!
I've got a project studio and enough knowledge to produce a decent product as well.
