Experiment in mixing and levelingFinally figured out some issues I was having with my audio mixing console. Seems some of the default setting were squashing some low end. I think it's better than it has been in the past.
Seduced By A BansheeFM8, Omnisphere, and a few other bells and whistles. FM8 is easily the most underated and used synths out there. It's complicated...but definitley has it's place in any genre. I wish I was better at it. Staying busy until Omnisphere 2 is delivered.
Full FledgedI added some guitar and strings to this project. I also added some filtering with automation with Cakewalks Bifilter2. Usual suspects include Omnisphere, Battery, filter on the guitar is Camel Phatt, The Female Voice is oddly enough Sara Palin.
Nobody Gives A ShitI finally did some work with some automation envelopes. Plugged the free Saturation knob from Softube in the pro channel. That thing really spruces up things. I'm pleased. I could be living under a bridge somewhere instead.
El CrappoHa, just strung up the guitar and needed to give them a good stretching. I haven't played guitar in forever. Also trying to get a good mix. Probably a little over compressed but whatever. It's not like it really matters or anything. lol
Automation TestHere is my afternoon experiment with some automation. It sounds terrible but it is what it is. I'd stayed up late till this morning and was woken up only a few hours later. So, this is about as much effort as I can do with this for now.
Darwin Got It All WrongNeed to lay out the drums and a bass line. It doesn't jive yet but I'll work on it and see if I can come up with something. Just bought Z3ta +2 and have been playing with that. Next I'm going to snip up the spoken words into a few clips and stuff 'em into the NN-XT. But all in all, it's been great fun on a rainy wet Sunday.
DorkusamorkusI sat working on this drum track for thirty minutes during the worst thunderstorm EVER! I finally realized I could try and record it. But, by the time I did the storm had passed over and no more ridiculous window rattling thunder. I'd listened to some of it. Could hear the wind causing some issue, so I wrapped the mic in a Shamwow. Still wasn't that great but I tried anyway. My cat Pootydoots was thought to be out in it so I called him in. He was eventually found dry and was probably under the bed waiting for WWIII to pass before coming out. That's him <-- My buddy!
BimbablybooNeeds more crashes, needs a lot of stuff but there is some potential. I was really just trying to get some different drum parts down. Want some drum rolls, kicks and snares but that will have to be for another day. The Z3ta sounds nice though. Pulled that thing out of packing peanuts yesterday. Read the manual and tweaked at few knobs. That thing sounds really nice once you figure out how to use the damn thing. LOL! Oh, the first part was just a palette. I pooled from that side to the other and even sneaked in a different HH towards the middle. Not sure which I like better but you don't know unless you do something you don't like. The synth track was a one shot with a little Quantize. But, there are elements I really dig. Not a finished composition just something to put up none the less.
