Influences
- Miles Davis and many of the jazz musicians in his circles from the late 60s to early 70s, especially drummers Tony Williams and Jack Dejohnette. Bitches Brew is my all-time favorite recording.
- Ravi Shankar and other world music - I love the string and percussion sounds of classical Indian and Middle Eastern music.
- Steve Reich's brilliant minimalism.
- Beatles, Rolling Stones, Doors, Hendrix and other good psychedelic pop/rock.
- Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs and Englishmen, Blood Sweat and Tears.
Some Frank Zappa.
- Jesus Christ Super Star Rock Opera one of my favorite albums ever to learn and play along to as a kid on my set, right up there with George Harrison's All Things Must Pass, Elton John's Captain Fantastic, Santana's Caravan and Jethro Tull's Aqualong.
- Some Def Leppard and Iron Maiden.
- All of Radiohead, Beck, Alt J, Foster the People.
