Hi everybody! My name is Jason. I am 24 years old. I started playing electric and acoustic guitar when I was 5 years old, and trumpet when I was 10, playing in marching band/ concert bands throughout high school and part of college. I picked up mandolin in college about 5 years ago, and found a beautiful classical guitar 3 years ago, and began to learn fingerstyle guitar and music theory for guitar at that point. I started playing drums a year ago on an electric kit as to not annoy my roommates when I practice. These days I play electric/acoustic guitar and drums mainly. I miss being part of a group of musicians, so I have been jamming with friends lately. I would like to join a band playing either guitar or drums, but more the former than the latter right away.

I am available nights after 6:30 pm to practice/jam/make music for an extended period of time. During the day I am a graduate researcher in the RPI physics department.

I am a huge metalhead, some bands I like being Meshuggah, Veil of Maya (older stuff), Born of Osiris (older stuff), Animals as Leaders, Textures, Periphery, and Haken to name a very tiny portion of the metal I listen too. I like jazz (buddy rich, wes montgomery, herbie hancock, jacob collier, django reinhardt), classical (bach, rachmaninov, paganini, schubert), rock (queen, styx, acdc, muse), chris thile's music in general, and some rap. I like music that is melodically/harmonically/technically/lyrically interesting and/or punchy from any genre.
