If you’re reading this, you're looking to play and meet local musicians. Here’s your chance.
We’re looking for vocalists and other instrumentalists to take part in our musical improv game Rock Improv-a-Ganza. We compose original songs (both music and lyrics) live on stage, on the fly. Anyone is welcome to come out and play with us. The Audience rolls a die to select the genre (Acoustic, New Wave, Punk, Heavy Metal, Blues, etc.). We make up a song on the spot. No rehearsals, no practice.
Here is how it works! ://rockimprovaganza.blogspot – It’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway”…with guitars!
Vocalists need to be creative because audience members select three random words that need to be worked into lyrics by the singer. After the genre is selected, the musicians take a few minutes to create the music and lyrics – and then we go for it. It’s a super fun time.
We’re not asking you to join our band – and because it’s all improv, there aren’t any rehearsals! It’s a chance to hone your musical chops, meet other local musicians, and just come out and play!

Because we're not a traditional band, it's not so much the influences - it's about the twelve genres we play:
Blues, Funk, Punk/Hardcore, Metal, Power Ballad, Grunge, Folk/Acoustic, Surf/Rockabilly, Ska/Reggae, Prog, New Wave, Slow Jamz - and we even let the audience call a few wildcards every show. So far we’ve done Country, early 2000s Rap/Metal, Afro-Cuban Funk, Acapella/Doo Wop, and Bluegrass/Funk Fusion. We're up for anything!
We have a very full show - we've had ten musicians on stage at one time! But typically we have two guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, one or two vocalists, and possibly harmonica or percussion.
We also wear costumes - bring gameplay elements (The Die of Destiny, The Lyrical Tome, The Sword of Change and more) and some lighting and other accessories (like a skull in a hot pink cowboy hat) to keep the spirit of fun evident while we're doing our thing!
My improv music game/show's fifth show at Coffee Works in Voorhees, NJ. All songs are made up on the spot by the roll of a die! Off stage musicians can use The Sword of Change to slay on stage musicians, taking their place! Learn more here:
