I am a singer, looking to play around with local musicians.
I'm currently working on a rather large project as a gift for my dad's 70th birthday: My own renditions of his favorite song from each of his 70 years so far. So if you play /anything/ I would probably love to sit with you to noodle around on a track!
I'll note that I alternate custody of my daughter biweekly, so my practice/play schedule works around her :)

Influences
Influences on my singing are as likely to be instrumentalists as vocalists.
Charlie Parker, Clarence Clemons, Bootsy Collins, Thelonius and TS Monk on one end, Carlos Santana, Les Claypool, Robert Johnson on another. As a kid, I learned rhythm listening to saxophones, and learned melody listening to lead guitarists.
Vocalists who've added to my vocal soup have included Bruce Springsteen, Ella, Zach de la Rocha, Speech (Todd Thomas), Woody Guthrie, and Tracy Chapman.
I'm not gonna tell you my voice sounds like the above, but they're among the voices who've taught me bits and pieces of voice, and upon whose work I shape my own.
