No band yet, so no name!

I am looking to find people interested in playing music of the heavier variety in the Westchester area. I have been playing guitar and bass on and off for about 10 years, and am looking for musicians with similar interests to get together and jam. I'm not sure where I'd want it to go from there, but I've always wanted to be in a band that writes original material and maybe gig at bars in the city. I am not very interested in playing cover material, other than a few songs here and there. I am looking for people that are not committed to bands right now, and people who are willing to have fun and play some heavy riffs.

I really like heavy, artsy bands like Tool, Isis, and the Melvins, I also like Mastodon very much, as well as the Sword and Black Sabbath. I've always wanted to be in a band that mixed heaviness with ambience, like Tool meets Pink Floyd. I consider myself an intermediate guitarist. I haven't been playing much the last few years, which is why I want to get playing again in a band fashion.

None, which is why I'm looking for people!

I currently have two guitars. I own an Epiphone Les Paul, loaded with Seymour Duncan pickups, as well as an Ibanez guitar also loaded with Duncans. The Epi I usually keep in standard or Drop D tuning. The Ibanez is more of my heavy guitar, which is tuned like a 7 string (BEADGB) and has much thicker gauge strings. I have a few small practice amps and one 50Watt(I think) Peavy Combo which is loud enough to play with a drummer. If I get a band going, I will probably get a new guitar since it's a new project.
