Abba to Zappa.

Here's a short list of "tunes" I'm practicing this week. For these tunes (and others I've worked out), I'm pretty specific in my note/left/right hand placement. For covers I toy with just where they go - and I can play chords with different voicings; imagine that.

For No One (G) Beatles
Moonlight Drive (G-A-G) Doors
Watching the Wheels (C + 10%) Lennon
Day Drinking (E) Original
Spring Open (E) Original

I should note, if it's "me", the meaning of the tune matters greatly (usually, not always, sometimes other elements are the turn on). If I'm backing someone, it's your deal, I'm there to make you sound good.

Bass Wise - I'm fairly fluid, "Smooth" is the complement most often heard, probably because I've played it a lot more than the 6-string. While I am enjoying the guitar these days, here's a short list of "bass tunes" I sometimes play as a solo act.

My Opening Farewell (D) Browne
Playboy in Outer Space (C) DADA
Powderfinger (D) I like the Beat Farmers Version
Take These Chains From My Heart (D) Roseanne’ version
(What's So Funny About) Peace Love And Understanding (G) Robbin Fords's take

I used to play the EUB (still can), that's where these older pictures are from - but these day's I'm having fun again with the horizontal - bass and electric guitar ... and ... no pictures.

Lead if the key can be moved; I'm real good at harmony.
