ABOUT

Hi, everyone. My name is Jordan Matos. I'm 23 and I'm a medic for the US Army on Ft. Benning. I've been in a couple of bands as lead vocals and am hoping to find another band to join. All the bands I've been a part of have been casual. We only ever recorded stuff for sh*ts and giggles. We'd often just jam out and I'd come up with material off the top of my head to see what would come out. It was mostly about having fun and a good time. I'd like to find a band with that same mentality, but maybe get a little more serious about it. I don't play any instruments yet, but I bought a couple to learn (acoustic guitar, harmonica). Haven't played a real gig since right after high school. My last band in Germany we would go out to public places in the cities and start busking. We mostly did acoustic sets due to local laws. Weekends would be best time for me to play because my schedule during the week is a bit more hectic. My level of commitment really depends on how committed the rest of the band is.

Influences

I listen to a bit of everything, especially when it comes to rock. I'm all across the board. If I had to list who I listened to the most growing up it would probably be U2, Queen, Fuel, Live, Sevendust, Foo Fighers, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden. I listen to all genres of rock, a lot of hip hop and R&B. I think you can learn a lot from listening to other genres and that they don't always have to be separate from each other.
