I’ve played music for 30+ years. I started with a bass and percussions (Congas, Jambay and darbuka, ) but to be honest with you, I never took any lessons. I am French and I learned how to play by figuring it out on my own by ear. I know the notes or keys of the strings (Me, La, Re , Sol… or , E,A,D,G…), but I’ve never played like that or with a book. I can easily find out where and how to play pretty much any music style. I am oriented to Blues, Classic Rock, Reggae, Blue grass, Country and Funk. I have really enjoyed playing my acoustic bass the last few years.
4 years ago I made a custom electric guitar and I started playing some solo style, based on my knowledge with the bass.
I used to play with 2 blue grass players on a regular basis for a few years. We did some gigs, but then I moved to Mount Airy and it’s not as easy as it used to be to play with them because of the distance.
I am looking to find some musicians to join or start a band. I can be moderately committed on Friday night or Saturday night but I also have to travel sometimes for my job.
