I've been playing guitar for 15 years, bass for 10, and piano/synth I would say collectively 7 years. I've taken 4 years of formal training in music, but don't consider myself a theory guru or anything. I have played in a few bands. I have been writing songs for the last few years and have roughly 30 under my belt with a handful of them recorded. I just moved to Asheville and have been pretty disappointed trying to find musicians in a town that thrives on music. I'm trying to play with other musicians and hopefully start a band that is somewhat serious, meaning- don't quit your day job or think you're going to move to NY or Portland and make it big. I would really love to find some other like minded musicians that are willing to put the time and effort into writing material, collaborating, jamming, practicing, improving, but most of all, having fun while doing it. It goes without saying we should all be friends for it to work. I discovered this site and it was quite motivating, so here goes- and jam on!
