ABOUT

I’m seeking like-minded musicians who want to play regular weekend gig. Ideally, I’d like to perform at a local waterfront restaurant/bar. Even twice a month is fine with me. I’m open to a playing some festivals and special events as well. I play a Yamaha WX5 electronic wind instrument (EWI). Mainly in saxophone mode. The EWI allows me to perform a host of other instruments as well, such as, trumpet, trombone, muted trumpet, harmonica, French horn, etc. The sound is VERY organic as I have invested the time and money for the best voice synth module on the market. I also have played the flute since I was 9 years old. A lot of people are amazed at the various styles of music I can pull off with the flute. For example, you don’t think of flute as a blues instrument. But it really does sound cool when played correctly. Using both the EWI and flute, I love to play hot-kickin funk, upbeat jazz and blues. But I can play and jam to just about any gendre. Pop, classic rock, acoustic, R&B, soul, reggae, southern rock and some Latin. I’m not a fan of punk, metal, acid, alternative or classical (playing it, that is). I run a successful finanical advisory firm, so, although I’m busy, my hours are flexible. I can arrange my schedule to fit in practice sessions and gigs. Bottom-line, I have a passion for performing and I want to get with a few other guys who love it as much as I do. I don’t need to make my living playing music. In fact, all the set-up, sound check, tear down, etc. would not be close worth the gig money if it weren’t for the fact that I love to play so much. I have been in two bands in within the past 10 years. But one band wanted to focus on Latin music, almost exclusively, and play Latin bank gigs. It just wasn’t fun for me. Not my gendre and too much travel time. I started another band but the other guys would not commit. Some of the guys had other separate gigs and/or demanding work schedules. I got tired of having to try to coordinate the schedule just to have someone crap out at the last minute. That kept placing a lot of pressure on me to try to locate a sub. So, after several months of trying to make a go of it, I just let it die a natural death. I was the lead singer. But I developed a rare vocal spasm that robbed my voice. I doesn’t have any impact to my playing instruments, but, sadly, my MC and singing days are over.
